About my teaching

I am an educator with experience teaching privately, in the New Jersey public school system and at the university level. I strive to create a place where students feel empowered to make music and provide a solid foundation for current and future musical endeavors.

In-Person Private Lesson
I have maintained a private percussion studio in New Jersey over the past 15 years, teaching students of all ages including those preparing for college. My students have earned first chair placements in state and regional ensembles including:
  • All-South Jersey Band
  • NJ All-State Band
  • All-South Jersey Jazz Band
  • Olympic Conference Band
  • Western Burlington County Band
  • Camden County Band

They have also won seats in a variety of top summer festivals and local ensembles including:
  • Philadelphia Youth Orchestra
  • Philadelphia Sinfonia
  • ​Disneyland All-American College Band
  • New England Conservatory Summer Orchestra Institute
  • South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble
  • Atlantic Brass Band

My students have been accepted into collegiate music programs including:

Lessons are taught at my home studio centrally located in Deptford, NJ. All percussion instruments are covered including snare drum, drum set, world percussion, mallet percussion and timpani.

Weekly lessons:
  • 60 minute
  • 45 minute
  • 30 minute (Recommended for beginners)

Online private lesson

Offered as a package of 2 or 4 and are conducted via Zoom (FaceTime and Skype available, but not preferred due to audio limitations). Topics include general technique, audition prep, composing, improvisation and more. If you decide to purchase a lesson package you will be contacted by me shortly to set up your lessons.

Masterclass

Designed specifically for the needs of your high school or college students, masterclasses can be a partial performance and workshop or workshop only. I can tailor these to any time requirement your school/university may have.
